CDI Installation

Let's locate the CDI:
1. On most scooters the CDI will be located in the engine compartment, some may be located in the battery compartment. On buggies, it will be located in the electric compartment box.
2. To access the engine compartment, lift the seat and remove the storage compartment.
3. The CDI is normally located against the frame.
4. Once you have located the CDI, you need to determine if your CDI is AC or DC current. The CDI will have two plugs, one with four wires and one with two wires. If you have two (2) wires going into the two wire plug, then your CDI is AC current, if you only have one (1) wire going into the two wire plug, then your CDI is DC current. This is very important, you will not get spark if you install the wrong CDI.
5. Make sure your key is off before you unplug and install the new CDI.
6. Carefully unplug the old CDI and install the new CDI.
7. Replace the storage compartment, and you should be ready to ride.
